During the time the party spent in the market between adventures Lachesis returned to them and gave them a mysterious artifact from deep in the dungeon. They were told to give this to Frater Slicor. Parabola took custody of this odd tool.
The party heads to speak to the slaver, hoping to purchase the magic-user slave from them. The price is too high but, after some haggling and discussion, the slaver agrees to hold onto this particular specimen and if the party can retrieve his crystal spectacles he will trade for them. He saw these spectaclces on a lizardman when he was exploring the second floor of the dungeon looking for stock, and wants them for himself. They will have to be found and/or stolen. The party also discovered that Trustee Sniv has heard rumours that both the orcs and the goblins have forged alliances to bolster their crusade against the other (in both cases this alliance is with the party.)
Exiting the market to the west, the party found themselves in the south-west quardant of the floor. These tunnels are infested with bats and eventually gave way to an arrangement of hexagonal rooms each decorated with a mural depicting a different natural biome - forests, mountains, deserts and the open oceans. The desert room, with murals of pyramids, contianed a statue of a sphinx. Solving its riddle revealed a hidden compartment as-yet undistrubed by treasure seekers. It contained some gold, some silver, two potions and a wand (as-yet unidentified). From one of the corridors connecting these rooms they discovered the door to a room filled with a tangle of tubes connecting ornate spigots, dials and levers - some sort of inscrutable machine leaking unknown liquid from its corroded metalwork. Despite curiosity, the machine was left alone. For now. A red room was also discovered - a small room in which every surface emits a red glow, reminiscent of the blue glow of the mysterious blue figure that still follows them around.
Whilst exploring this area they were ambushed by a pair of crab spiders. One of the poisoned Bonk and if it wasn't for the generosity of some nearby orcs sharing a medicine he would be dead. The orcs were jovial and the party requested to speak with their chief. However, he will not speak to them until the goblins have been ejected from Stonehell and the orcs have taken their territory.
From here, the party explored what turned out to be gobling territory (although not especially populated with goblins). These rough, natural tunnels and caves also seem to be a site of interest for both the dungeons' kobolds and orcs, here is where some glowing blue mushrooms seem to be harvested. Here the party were ambushed by more large arthropods, but this time they were easily overcome. Finally, just before leaving the dungeon to saftey, they discovered a room that seemed to have magnetic walls. Arnold, Bonk's henchman, was attracted to the wall and unable to move. Having a suspicion (from earlier dicking around) that the artefact Lachesis tasked the party with passing on to Frater Silcor had something to do with magnetism Parabola pointed it at Arnold and activated it. Unfotunately it seemed to amplify the magnetic field and Arnold was crushed to death by his own armour.
